DIY Baseball Glove Wall Art

DIY Baseball Glove Wall Art
While cleaning out a closet a few weeks ago, I came across baseball gloves belonging to my husband and my dad. They're so beat up, old, and...have SUCH character!

They've definitely been used, enjoyed, and look like they've had a fun life! Because they're WAY too awesome to sit in a closet when not being used, I wanted to figure out a way to display them in one of our bedrooms, so here's what I came up with!

This is a great idea for a child's room, man cave, or to appreciate a glove that has been handed down through the family.
Enjoy!

Supplies

Supplies:
  1. 11x14 canvas or piece of wood (You can choose another size, but 11x14 fits the size of the glove well).
  2. Paint in any color you choose
  3. Paintbrush
  4. One nail
  5. Hammer
  6. Baseball Glove
  7. Small piece of wire
Paint base a solid color

1. Paint your wood or canvas, including all four sides.

Hammer nail into the top

2. Hammer the nail into the wood of the canvas (or straight into your board if you're just using wood), about an inch or so from the top, centered. Be sure to aim for and hit that stretcher bar if you're using canvas!

Loop wire through leather to make a hanger

3. Loop your wire through a piece of leather at the edge of the glove to make a hook. Mine is bent just enough to hold the wire in place because I wanted my gloves to be taken down easily to still be used.

4. Hang your glove on the nail and display the entire masterpiece on the wall!

Easy enough, right? I love the idea of displaying pieces that have been treasured by us and passed down through the family, but still being able to use them for their intended purpose. Of course, if you don't plan on actually playing baseball, the glove still looks spectacular on the wall!
